1. About these terms
These terms apply to independent online mathematics tuition provided by Arij Asad, trading as Arij Asad Maths. The person who books and pays for tuition is the client. Where the student is under 18, the client must be a parent or guardian.
2. Fees and booking
Fees depend on the type and structure of support. The exact fee for one-off lessons, regular tuition, specialist marking, intensive programmes or agreed packages will be confirmed in writing before booking.
Payment is due in advance using the payment details provided. A one-off lesson, package or regular weekly slot is reserved only once payment has been received. If payment is late, the slot may be released.
3. Cancellation and rescheduling
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or move a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, and missed sessions, are normally charged in full because the time has been reserved. In a genuine emergency, Arij may make a reasonable exception.
If Arij needs to cancel, the session will be rearranged or the relevant fee refunded. If technology problems on Arij’s side materially prevent a lesson, the missed time will be rearranged or credited.
4. Lesson arrangements
Lessons are normally delivered online using Zoom or another agreed platform. The student should join on time with a reliable internet connection, suitable device and any agreed materials. For collaborative written mathematics, a tablet and stylus are strongly recommended where available.
Lesson frequency, content and any work between sessions are tailored to the student and may change as preparation develops.
5. Under-18s and safeguarding
A parent or guardian must make or approve arrangements for a student under 18 and should remain the main contact for booking and payment. Lessons must take place in an appropriate setting. Sessions are not recorded unless everyone concerned has agreed in advance.
Arij may share relevant information where reasonably necessary to respond to a safeguarding concern or legal obligation.
6. Academic integrity
Tuition supports learning and preparation. Arij will not complete assessed work on a student’s behalf, provide confidential examination material or help a student misrepresent work as their own. The client and student remain responsible for following the rules of their school, university and examination body.
7. Results and admissions
No particular examination grade, test score, interview outcome or university offer is guaranteed. Outcomes depend on the student’s starting point, attendance, independent work and the decisions of schools, universities and examination bodies.
8. Materials
Original worksheets, notes and feedback supplied by Arij are for the student’s personal educational use. They must not be published, sold, shared publicly or used commercially without written permission. Official examination materials remain subject to the relevant owner’s terms.
9. Privacy and communications
Personal information is handled as described in the privacy notice. Booking by email and payment of the agreed fee indicate acceptance of these terms. Important changes will be confirmed in writing.
10. Liability and governing law
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited. Subject to that, Arij Asad Maths is not responsible for indirect losses or for failures caused by events outside reasonable control. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
