1. Who is responsible for your information
Arij Asad, trading as Arij Asad Maths, is the data controller for personal information used to provide independent mathematics tuition. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to arijasadmaths@gmail.com.
2. Information collected
This may include the parent or student’s name and contact details, the student’s year group, academic goals, preparation history, location or time zone, lesson arrangements, payment records, correspondence and notes needed to plan tuition. Please do not send medical information or other sensitive personal information through the enquiry form unless it is genuinely necessary and has first been discussed with Arij.
If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian should normally make the initial enquiry and handle payment and scheduling communications.
3. How the information is used
- To respond to enquiries and recommend suitable tuition.
- To arrange, deliver and improve lessons and provide feedback.
- To manage payments, scheduling and business records.
- To protect the security and proper operation of the website.
- To understand website use through Google Analytics, but only when a visitor has chosen to accept analytics cookies.
4. Lawful bases
Information is used where necessary to take steps before entering a tuition agreement, to perform that agreement, to meet legal obligations such as accounting requirements, or for legitimate interests in running and protecting the tutoring service. Consent is used for optional analytics cookies and can be withdrawn at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer.
5. Enquiry form and service providers
The website enquiry form is processed by FormSubmit and delivered to Arij by email. Website analytics, when accepted, are provided by Google. Email, website hosting and payment providers may also process limited information as needed to provide their services. These providers may process information outside the UK under their own legal safeguards.
6. Retention
Unsuccessful or inactive enquiries are normally deleted within 12 months. Tuition correspondence and working records are normally retained while tuition is active and for up to two years afterwards where needed for continuity, queries or safeguarding. Payment and accounting records are kept for the period required by UK law. Information may be retained longer where a legal, safeguarding or dispute-related reason requires it.
7. Cookies and analytics
The site uses a small item of browser storage to remember your cookie preference. Google Analytics does not load unless you select “Accept analytics”. You can reject analytics without losing access to the site and can change your choice later using the footer link.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to its use. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Requests should be sent to the email address above.
If a concern is not resolved, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
9. Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated when the service or providers change. The latest version will remain available on this page.
